In November 2011, Google launched GoMo, a global initiative to help the world’s websites become more mobile friendly. To kick off the program, Google partnered with Red Square, Duda Mobile and Mullen on mobilizing Mobile—an ambitious campaign to make Mobile, Alabama a fully-mobilized city. The results were nothing short of amazing: more than 400 businesses received free mobile websites; scores attended seminars on mobile strategy; and a marketing summit was held at Red Square Agency featuring talks from Jason Spero, head of global mobile sales and strategy at Google, and Edward Boches, chief innovation officer at Mullen. Based on the event's success, the future of mobile is in Mobile.
By 2013, more people will use mobile phones than PCs to get online. And 71% of users expect a mobile site to load as fast as a desktop site.
